Minister Blair meets with Mayor John Tory to discuss housing assistance for asylum seekers

The Government of Canada is committed to ensuring that Canada’s border is managed in a way that keeps Canadians safe and upholds Canada’s global responsibility to protect those fleeing persecution in the world. The Honourable Bill Blair, Minister for Border Security and Organized Crime Reduction, met today with Toronto Mayor John Tory to discuss further details about the assistance the Government of Canada is providing to temporarily house asylum seekers.

Canada expands its biometrics screening program

July 30, 2018 – Ottawa, ON – The Government of Canada is committed to the safety and security of all Canadians and to the integrity of our immigration system.

On July 31, 2018, all nationals from countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East are required to provide biometrics (fingerprints and a photo) if they are applying for a Canadian visitor visa, a work or study permit, or permanent residence.

Maria is only fifteen years old, but she is very mature and knowledgeable, so it shows you can’t judge a book by its cover.

When we arrived, the hotel looked amazing – but once we got inside the rooms were dirty and damp. Well it just goes to show, don’t always judge a book by its cover!
